CEC Deputy Chairman comments on financing of elections from the budget

Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Bakhrom Kuchkarov noted that the financing of the elections is a global phenomenon, and the funds will be allocated to ensure the right of voters to vote.

“First and foremost, the transparency of election funds will be ensured. Also, there was no interim reporting process before. Only the final report was given, now it is necessary to submit an interim report even before the election. In this case, how much is used for what will be reported, then detailed information be given in the final report. Many may not know the importance of this. This is necessary to determine where the money was spent in the election.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has held numerous discussions on the approved budget for the election. But this is the case all over the world and these funds are needed to ensure the right of voters to vote. Because funds are required to ensure all the rights enshrined in the constitution. In this regard, the CEC approved the cost estimates a month before the election, but now it has been approved early, because we have done all the analysis on the preparation for the election process, the preparation of precinct election commissions.

Therefore, we have approved the cost estimate. This is done within the framework of the law on the state budget, which is also new, it is clearly stated, and the CEC approves the exact cost estimates within the budget,” Kun.uz correspondent quoted Bakhrom Kuchkarov as saying.

It should be noted that the Central Election Commission has been allocated 300 billion soums for the October 24 presidential election. A total of 15 billion 486 million soums will be allocated for party activities and election campaign of candidates. Of this, each candidate will be allocated 3 billion 97 million soums.
