On July 26, a meeting of the Senate council of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place.
As the parliamentary press service reported, at the meeting, a resolution was adopted to convene the seventeenth plenary session of the Senate of Oliy Majlis on July 30, 2021.
At the plenary session, which will be held in the form of videoconferencing, it is planned to consider a number of issues.
There are the following laws among them: “On ensuring the seismic safety of the population and the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On licensing, licensing and notification procedures”, “On amendments and additions in some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the further improvement of the legal protection of intellectual property objects”, “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the activities of the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, “On the accession of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the International Agreement on olive oil and table olives (Geneva, October 9, 2015)”.
In addition, it is envisaged to consider the issue of tasks arising from the results of the international conference “Central and South Asia: regional interconnectedness. Challenges and opportunities” (Tashkent, July 15-16, 2021).
Along with this, it is planned to hear a report of:
- the Cabinet of Ministers on the implementation in the first half of 2021 of the state program for the implementation of the actions strategy in five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021 in the “Year of Support for Youth and Strengthening Public Health”,
- the Minister of Internal Affairs on the state of the prevention of offenses and their prevention,
- Chairman of the State Committee for Ecology and Environmental Protection on the issue of cutting down trees and shrubs that are not part of the state forest fund.
It is also envisaged to consider issues on the implementation of measures determined within the framework of the programs of socio-economic development of the Bayaut, Karshi, Bustan, Turakurgan, Alat districts and the city of Kattakurgan, on the results of studying some decisions of local councils of people’s deputies, on the results of studying the state of implementation of laws, law enforcement practice and monitoring the adoption of by-laws.
Moreover, issues on the approval of the standard regulations of the regional, district, city council of people’s deputies and the model regulation on the standing commissions of the regional, district, city council of people’s deputies, on the introduction of a rating system to assess the implementation of state youth policy in the regions, on the report of the Senate committee of Oliy Majlis on international relations, foreign economic relations, foreign investment and tourism on activities in 2020 and the first half of 2021 and other issues will be considered.
