Shavkat Mirziyoyev says he is not satisfied with the level of higher education coverage in Uzbekistan
Coverage of higher education in Uzbekistan increased from 9 percent to 29 percent in 5 years, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at an event at the Kuksaroy residence.

“Five years ago, coverage of higher education in the republic was 9 percent, now it is 29 percent. If you ask whether I am happy about this, I'll tell you – no, I'm not happy yet. I will be satisfied when the figure rises to 50 percent. I believe that a country whose people are educated and have lots of scientists will be strong. Education and training is important.
Many people laughed when we opened an IT-Park in Marhamat two years ago. But now, young people working there are earning up to 3-4 thousand dollars a month.
I recently met with entrepreneurs. At the meeting, a young man said that if he is given a chance, he would employ 100,000 people in the field of IT. In general, I received more than 15,000 proposals from entrepreneurs, and I studied them as much as I could. Now we are working on them,” Mirziyoyev said.
