Alisher Kadirov urges to stop showing Uzbek men as abusers, calls to not follow steps of countries experiencing family crisis

Many countries celebrate Father's Day on the third Sunday of June every year. Alisher Kadirov, the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, is advocating for Father's Day to be officially recognized as a special day in Uzbekistan as well.

"Are we not demeaning men, current or future fathers, in both our families and society as a whole? What will be the consequences?

It has been some time since male educators and teachers have left kindergartens and schools. In recent years, it seems men are also being squeezed out of family life...

Aren’t these important places for the future of the country being choked by irate women? Why have mothers, childcare workers, and female teachers become this aggressive?

While values may vary among different nations, ours are unique. Haven’t we inadvertently handed over our millennia-old values that balanced man-woman relationships to the promoters of cultures that have long since dissected family and fatherhood?

Fools exist in every nationality, but what will be the outcome of ingraining in our youth the perspective that all Uzbek men are abusers, demeaning their wives, based on showcasing a couple of violent, uneducated individuals?

Isn't the primary cause of today's family breakdowns the lack of trust between parties regarding issues that young couples should patiently work through together? Isn’t baseless anxiety, accusation, slander, and defamation behind the dramatic rise in these problems?

Our national culture of family - a balanced harmony that leads to comfort and knowledgeable children - seems to be deteriorating under the influence of cultures that have fallen into crisis in managing male-female relations...

Our values extol women not for their stature and limitless rights, but for their family-mindedness, modesty, and wisdom.

The father, the man, is the protector of society's honor and dignity. Venerated and wise mothers are the educators of these protectors!

We are working on a proposal in our election program to grant fully paid maternity leave for up to three years with the condition of participating in parenting training sessions for mothers who have children.

If mothers do not sacrifice their comfort for noble children, the children who do not recognize their fathers will sacrifice not only their mothers but the whole society.

Father's Day must be propagated as a serious socio-political day.

Our family relations must undergo serious study, leading to critical conclusions that will serve our national development.
