Special Representative Ismatulla Irgashev discusses the situation in Afghanistan with German ambassador

The Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany Tilo Klinner.

The parties discussed the current development of events in Afghanistan, as well as the humanitarian situation in this country, the MFA said.

The German Ambassador emphasized the significant role of Uzbekistan in establishing long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan.

At the same time, the diplomat expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for assistance in organizing the evacuation of German and other foreign citizens from the country.

“The German side was also informed about the efforts of Uzbekistan to provide humanitarian aid to the Afghan people and to promote the economic recovery of the neighboring country,” the Foreign Ministry added in its report.
