Statistics Committee announces largest toxic waste producing regions in Uzbekistan

In 2020, the total amount of waste generated by organizations producing toxic and non-toxic waste in the country amounted to 125.6 million tons, the State Statistics Committee reported.

In terms of regions, the highest share falls on Navoi – 48.2%. The next places are taken by Tashkent region (34.6%) and Jizzakh (9.1%).

The lowest level of toxic and non-toxic waste production was observed in Syrdarya region – 0.01%, followed by the Republic of Karakalpakstan (0.02%) and Fergana (0.03%).
