Uzbekistan may prohibit selling alcohol and tobacco products to those under 21
Uzbekistan is planning to ban the sale of alcohol and tobacco products to persons under the age of 21. The bill will be considered at a plenary session in parliament.
According to the draft document “On restricting the distribution and use of alcohol and tobacco products”, alcohol and tobacco products may be prohibited from being sold to persons under 21 years of age. Previously, the age limit was 20.
If the seller doubts the age of the buyer, then he will have the right to demand a document that will certify the age of the client. In the absence of a document, the buyer will be refused sale.
In addition, a ban on openly displaying alcohol and tobacco products in stores may be introduced.
