Karate World Championships: Athlete from Uzbekistan bags gold
From November 16 to November 21, Dubai hosted the Karate World Championships. 1,054 athletes from 105 countries attended the tournament.

In the final fight of the weight category -75 kg, an athlete from Uzbekistan Doston Otabolaev defeated Abdulla Abdulaziz of Egypt to win the gold medal of the tournament.
This is the first gold for Uzbekistan in the Karate World Championships.
Uzbekistan ranked 9th in the overall team standings with one medal in the tournament.
