Uzbekistan and IAEA sign a cooperation framework for five years
Uzbekistan and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have signed a cooperation framework for five years.
The document has determined priority areas for the transfer of nuclear technology and identified resources for technical cooperation.
Next year, the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan using Russian technologies should begin. It is planned to commission it in 2030.
Earlier in July, the International Atomic Energy Agency conducted monitoring, inspected the country’s potential and declared that Uzbekistan is ready to build a nuclear power plant.
