“Unvaccinated employees will work remotely” – Anvar Alimov

Unvaccinated employees of organizations will be sent to work remotely from January 15, Deputy Minister of Health – Head of the Main Health Department of Tashkent Anvar Alimov said at a press conference on January 10.

“By January 15, all companies will be notified of the mandatory vaccination. Unvaccinated employees in organizations will be sent to work remotely. In the next five days, the institutions where employees receive the first vaccine will be able to continue working as before,” Anvar Alimov said.

He also added that those who cannot be vaccinated due to their health will have to work remotely. Kholmamat Norboyev, the first deputy head of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Service, said no punitive measures would be taken.

“The fines imposed under Protocol 78 are no longer in force. In the near future, it was decided to conduct only a notification campaign. There are no penalties at the legislative level. Our main task is to help maintain the peace and well-being of every citizen. We do not seek to further complicate business in this period,” he said.

Earlier, it was reported that more than 26,000 employees in Uzbekistan who refused to be vaccinated were fired. Also, Article 113 of the Labor Code was amended. According to it, if an employee refuses to undergo prophylactic vaccination (in the absence of a contraindication) on the basis of a decision of the chief state sanitary doctor when there is a threat of quarantine and infectious diseases, the employer has the right not to employ him.
