Deputy governor of Mirishkor district detained while receiving $50,000 in bribe
The deputy governor of the Mirishkor district, Kashkadarya region was detained while receiving $50,000 in bribe.
On February 7, 2022, the governor of Kashkadarya region held a meeting to listen to reports on the work being done in the region to combat corruption.
At the meeting, it was reported that the deputy governor of the Mirishkor district in charge of neighborhood and family support, U. Yakhshiyev, was detained while receiving $50,000 in bribe from a citizen in exchange for allocating a land plot in the district. Reportedly, he asked for $80,000 and was taking the first agreed amount.
According to Hayot Shamsutdinov, a spokesman for the Prosecutor General’s Office, a criminal case has been initiated against Yakhshiyev. He was arrested in a procedural manner.
