Information has been disseminated on social networks that production of the Chevrolet Spark car will be stopped in Uzbekistan.
According to CarsDirect data, General Motors in August 2022 will indeed stop production of the American compact hatchback Chevrolet Spark, which is considered the cheapest car in the US market.
General Motors is pulling the Chavrolet Spark out of production due to low sales. Last year, the model was sold in the United States with a circulation of 24.4 thousand units, while in the crisis year of 2020, during the first and second waves of the COVID-19 pandemic, sales of the model amounted to 33.5 thousand units.
With the withdrawal of Spark, the most affordable Chevrolet model in the US will be Trax compact crossover. Now car prices start at $21,400.
As the Uzavtosanoat press service told Kun.uz, Uzbekistan does not plan to discontinue production of the Chevrolet Spark car, as this brand has become very popular in the country.
