The Andijan regional prosecutor’s office is investigating financial violations in the Andijan city public education department, the PGO press service reported.
According to the MPE press service, the audit conducted by the Ministerial Internal Audit Service and the Accounts Chamber in Andijan revealed more than 43 billion soums of financial irregularities in 2020-2021.
The Department of Public Financial Control inspected the Public Education Department for the period from November 1, 2018 to November 1, 2020 on the basis of primary documents. At the same time, it was revealed that 33.8 billion soums in cash in relation to the salaries of employees were taken from the bank excessively by officials of the Public Education Department. They misappropriated the funds without entering into the centralized accounting office.
The collected materials were sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office for legal examination.
According to Kun.uz, the amount revealed during the investigation of financial violations increased to 57 billion soums, and the former head of the department Sunbula Eraliyeva and the current head of the Public Education Department (PED) Nuriddin Bazarov were detained. A total of about 40 people are reported to be involved in the investigation.
It should be recalled that the Department of Public Financial Control under the Finance Ministry for 9 months of 2021 revealed financial irregularities in the expenditure of 728.8 billion soums. This is almost 6 times more than in the same period last year.
