Parliamentary inquiry sent to Behzod Musayev on use of funds allocated for pandemic
The Legislative Chamber sent a parliamentary inquiry to the Minister of Health Behzod Musayev on what was spent on a total of 4.2 trillion soums allocated in 2021 to combat the coronavirus pandemic, the press service of the lower house reported.
It was noted that in 2021, the state budget initially allocated 3 trillion soums for the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and the purchase of vaccines, the relevant law adopted on November 5, 2021 allocated an additional 1.2 trillion soums, a total of 4.2 trillion soums.
In particular, the following funds have been allocated:
• 1.414 trillion soums – for incentives for medical staff and other professionals involved in anti-coronavirus activities;
• 604.2 billion soums – for medicines, hygiene and disinfectants;
• 89.5 billion soums – for one-time overalls, hand and face masks and other expenses;
• 86.6 billion soums – for food products;
• 113.9 billion soums – for laboratory reagents, pyrometers, test systems and other expenses;
• more than 1.328 billion soums – for vaccines;
• 9.8 billion soums – for establishment of vaccination points;
• 270.6 billion soums – for the establishment of medical centers to combat coronavirus in Tashkent and Namangan region;
• 174.5 billion soums – for other expenses.
However, the report submitted to the Legislative Chamber by the Ministry of Health on its activities in the first half of 2021 did not say how much money was spent on the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and the purchase of vaccines. In addition, the reports submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers on the implementation of the state budget, as well as information and materials provided by the Ministry of Finance did not reflect this information.
In addition, the request of the Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms of the Legislative Chamber did not provide the necessary information from the Ministry of Health.
Based on the above, the Legislative Chamber sent a parliamentary inquiry to the Minister of Health Behzod Musayev on how much money was spent on combating coronavirus during the pandemic.
