Ministry of Energy provides information about development of chargers for electric vehicles

In Uzbekistan, as part of the development of the “green economy”, a number of innovative projects are being developed, including a project to create and develop high-speed chargers for electric vehicles based on the use of solar energy.

The National Renewable Energy Research Institute has a hydrogen energy research center and a laboratory for testing and certification of renewable and hydrogen energy technologies, in which a number of case studies are currently underway.

In particular, with the technical support of the Chinese company Henan Suda, the Institute was allocated 20 electric vehicles, on the basis of which scientific research will be carried out.

To accelerate the development of the industry, scientists of the Institute are implementing a number of research projects.

The first of these is a project to create and develop high-speed chargers for electric vehicles using solar technology. The goal of the project is to develop, taking into account the climatic conditions of Uzbekistan, for the introduction in all regions of devices for fast charging of electric vehicles, which will operate in parallel with the local power grid, through solar photovoltaic stations with an energy storage system.

As a result, each such system installed in the country will generate 32 thousand kWh of electricity per year, which is designed to charge 950 electric vehicles, and in addition, save 11.2 thousand cubic meters of natural gas and prevent the emission of 19.8 tons of harmful substances into the atmosphere.

The theme of the second project being developed by the Institute is the development and preparation of a feasibility study for the introduction of solar photovoltaic systems in the central electric grid.

The project provides for the development of specific solutions, feasibility studies and criteria for the safe operation of photovoltaic systems in the regions of the country, taking into account climatic conditions.

It is envisaged that photovoltaic systems will be able to be used in all sectors of the economy, in residential areas, private and public enterprises connected to a common grid.

The advantage is that the electricity generated by photovoltaics is transferred to the grid with minimal losses. Recommendations will be developed for connecting photovoltaic systems to the grid and tariff mechanisms, taking into account the regional climatic conditions.
