Articles 168 and 169 of the Criminal Code are being supplemented by a new norm establishing liability as an aggravating circumstance for the theft of funds from bank plastic cards. This was announced at a regular session of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis.
Today, robbery cases of funds from bank plastic cards are qualified by Article 169 (theft) of the Criminal Code.
It is noteworthy that in many cases, due to the fact that a small amount of funds is being robbed from citizens’ plastic cards, this act is charged under Part 1 of Article 169 of the Criminal Code. This, in turn, leads to the fact that insufficient penalties are applied to perpetrators, they do not go to the path of moral correction, and they are repeatedly involved in criminal activity.
The bill was adopted by deputies.
