The Tashkent City Internal Affairs Main Bureau reported that the crime took place at an office located in the Yunusobod district.

Following a report filed with the authorities, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Main Bureau launched an operational search mission to identify the suspects. The investigation led to the arrest of three individuals: the alleged mastermind, a man born in 1988 named Bobur; an accomplice born in 2000 named Sherzod; and an employee of the targeted limited liability company (LLC) identified as Abdurahmon, who worked there as a driver.

The investigation revealed that the driver, Abdurahmon, played a pivotal role in the heist by providing inside information and logistical support. He reportedly supplied Sherzod with a scooter, a specialized delivery thermal bag, and a helmet to help him pose as a courier. This disguise allowed Sherzod to approach the office at night undetected, where he entered the basement and made off with the safe.

During the interrogation, the driver admitted his involvement, stating that he provided the keys to the office and specified the exact location of the safe. He claimed the keys were returned to him three days later. Expressing deep remorse, the driver pleaded for a second chance, citing the shame he brought upon his family. Similarly, the organizer and the individual who carried out the physical theft issued public apologies to the President and the people of Uzbekistan, asking for forgiveness.

The Yunusobod District Internal Affairs Department has initiated a criminal case under Article 169 (Theft) of the Criminal Code. Under the provisions of this article, the suspects could face a sentence of up to 15 years of imprisonment if convicted.
