More Uzbek labor migrants complain about salary delays in Russia

In February-March 2022, the External Labor Migration Agency provided legal assistance to around 2,200 citizens of Uzbekistan working in Russia. More than 1,300 of the complaints were related to salary delays.

Azim Akhmatov, department head at the External Labor Migration Agency, said that the number of appeals by Uzbek labor migrants working in Russia has slightly increased in the past two months.

“Over the past two months, about 2,200 citizens have been provided with legal assistance. Of these people, more than 1,300 reported that they have not received their salaries on time. In the past, this figure was around 10-20 percent, but now it has increased,” said Akhmatov at a press conference on April 5.
