The regulation.gov.uz portal published a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On further improvement of the healthy nutrition system in public education institutions”.
From the 2022-2023 academic year, the Ministry of Public Education and the Ministry of Health are invited to outsource the organization of healthy nutrition in general education schools, all types of boarding schools, orphanages under the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Main Department of the Public Education Department of Tashkent and regional departments of public education.
It is noted that:
• healthy field meals in educational institutions are organized based on the results of the procurement procedure conducted by the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Main Department of Public Education in Tashkent and the regional departments of public education;
• when outsourcing public catering in an educational institution, the fee for the use of production and dining rooms, equipment, utensils and kitchen furniture, temporarily provided to the outsourcer under a lease agreement, is set at a “zero” rate, and the responsibility for their effective use, storage and integrity lies with the outsourcer.
Sanitary and epidemiological welfare and public health service:
• checks the sanitary condition of food products and prepared food in educational institutions, as well as the compliance of the technological equipment used in them with sanitary rules, norms and hygiene standards, compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements by kitchen workers;
• the Ministry of Health, together with the Ministry of Public Education, develops and approves the norms of rational daily nutrition of students, taking into account the requirements for food products in accordance with their physiological age.
