Mudflow sweeps three people away in Surkhandarya
The mudflow, caused by heavy rains, shattered a citizen who was tending livestock and two people in a Nexia car.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, on May 10, at about 16:00 in the mountainous area of Sariosiyo district of Surkhandarya region, Bogiston mahalla, Zakhona village, mudflow occurred as a result of short-term heavy rains.
As a result of the accident, a resident of Khursan mahalla of Uzun district, who was herding cattle, and his livestock, as well as two residents of Istiklol mahalla of Uzun district, who were in their Nexia car in the area, were swept away.
The citizen tending livestock was rescued from the natural disaster.
Under the guidance of the regional khokim, the leadership of the Emergency Situations Department, rescuers, the National Guard, the Interior Ministry, the Prosecutor's Office and relevant services arrived at the scene to avoid consequences of the natural disaster. Search and rescue operations are underway with the involvement of 70 local residents.
