Statistics Committee announces number of foreign students studying in Uzbekistan

According to the committee, at the beginning of the 2021/22 academic year, the number of foreign students studying in Uzbekistan amounted to 5.1 thousand people.

The number of foreign nationals studying in higher education institutions of the country by years:

• 2016/2017 academic year - 603 people;
• 2017/2018 academic year - 1320 people;
• 2018/2019 academic year - 2685 people;
• 2019/2020 academic year - 3593 people;
• 2020/2021 academic year - 4219 people;
• 2021/2022 academic year - 5140 people.

As of January 1, 2020, 53,000 students from Uzbekistan were studying abroad.
