Kozim Komilov re-elected Chairman of the Supreme Court
The twenty-seventh plenary session of the Senate of Oliy Majlis is underway. The senators also considered the issue of electing the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has submitted a nomination to the Senate for the election of Kozim Komilov as Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Following the discussions, the senators elected Kozim Komilov Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan for a period of five years.
The relevant resolution of the Senate was adopted on this issue.
For information, in 2017, Kozim Komilov, who served as Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court, was appointed Chairman of the Supreme Court.
Komilov was elected Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan by the Resolution of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 23, 2013.
Prior to his appointment, until 2017, Shoyunus Goziyev served as Chairman of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan.
For information, the Supreme Court consists of a chairman, his first deputy and three deputies – chairmen and judges of judicial commissions. The Senate has the power to elect the chairman and members of the Supreme Court on the presidential recommendation.
