Former rector of Tashkent State Agrarian University detained

He was fired from his post in September last year.

The former rector of the Tashkent State Agrarian University Botirjon Suleymanov is taken into custody. An investigation is underway against him, the Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education Abdukodir Toshkulov said during a briefing at AIMC on Thursday.

“There was an attestation of the staff, many teachers were fired. As for the case of Botir Suleymanov, I cannot say anything because of the ongoing investigation. The important thing to note is that he is detained as a precaution. Currently, a preliminary investigation is underway. There may have been financial errors or other issues,” Toshkulov said.

It should be recalled that Botirjon Suleymanov was dismissed from the post of rector of the Tashkent State Agrarian University in September 2021. It is worth noting that until January 1, 2021, he also served as Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
