Uzbekistan to celebrate Eid al-Adha on July 9

Eid al-Adha will be celebrated in Uzbekistan on July 9.

The presidential decree on the celebration of Eid al-Adha has been adopted.

“In order to preserve and widely promote our ancient traditions and values, such as generosity, kindness and compassion, to support the noble intentions and aspirations of our people, taking into account the decision of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan that the first day of Eid al-Adha in 2022 will fall on July 9 – Saturday, July 9 will be widely celebrated in our country as a holiday,” the document reads.

The Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regional and Tashkent city khokimiyats, the Ministry of Mahalla and Family Affairs, in cooperation with the Committee on Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers and public organizations, have been instructed to take appropriate measures to celebrate Eid al-Adha in accordance with the national and religious traditions of our people.

According to the document, July 9, 10 (Sunday), 11 and 12 are announced as non-business days.
