Precinct commissions for holding a referendum to be created at representative offices of Uzbekistan in foreign countries

Precinct commissions for holding a referendum will be created at diplomatic and other representations of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries. Murodulla Alimboyev, head of the CEC information service, announced this at an AIMC briefing.

It is noted that the work plan of the Central Election Commission (CEC) for the second half of 2022 was widely discussed and approved.

The priority task of the CEC is the preparation for the referendum of the Republic of Uzbekistan, which is planned to be held in the second half of the year, and its organization at the highest level.

In order to streamline the activities of observers in the referendum process and ensure their rights, the Regulations on the participation of observers from foreign states and international organizations and on the procedure for the activities of observers from political parties, self-government bodies of citizens and civil initiative groups were adopted.

Given the active participation of compatriots abroad in previous elections, in order to facilitate their voting in a referendum, the Regulations on the procedure for the formation of precinct commissions for holding a referendum at diplomatic and other representations of Uzbekistan in foreign countries were also approved.
