President pardoned 5,555 convicts over six years
The President of Uzbekistan pardoned 5,555 people in the period from 2017 to 2022.

It is noted that since 2017, 21 decrees related to amnesty have been issued. On the basis of these decrees, 5,555 persons serving their sentences were pardoned.
The number of convicts pardoned by years:
- in 2017 – 2,700 persons with one decree;
- in 2018 – 621 persons with three decrees;
- In 2019 – 771 persons with four decrees;
- in 2020 – 616 persons with five decrees;
- in 2021 – 637 persons with four decrees;
- in 2022 – 203 persons with three decrees.
