Islamic Solidarity Games: Uzbekistan ranked second in team standings with 158 medals
The fifth Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya (Turkey) ended on August 18.
The delegation of Uzbekistan, which participated in 24 sports with 268 athletes, took the 2nd place in team standings with 51 gold, 42 silver and 65 bronze medals.

Weightlifters (15-3-6) brought the most gold medals to the national team. Also, our athletes were among the prize winners in judo (6-2-5), wrestling (4-4-10), athletics (4-2-2), taekwondo (4-0-4), kickboxing (2-7-12), rhythmic gymnastics (2-6-1), swimming (2-5-5), gymnastics (2-4-2), fencing (2-3-9), para swimming (2-2-2), cycling (2- 2-1), karate (2-0-1), para cycling (1-2-3), para athletics (1-0-0), table tennis (0-0-1) and shooting (0-0 -1).
Ruslan Nuriddinov, Akbar Jurayev, Sarvar Zafarjonov and Tursunoy Jabborova won gold medals in weightlifting, and Olga Zabelinskaya won three gold medals in cycling.
In para swimming, Azizbek Boynazarov won 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze; in weightlifting, Adhamjon Ergashev bagged 2 gold and 1 silver for the delegation.
On the last day of the competition, 47-year-old legendary gymnast Oksana Chusovitina also secured a gold medal.
