Deputy khokim of Mirishkor district who was detained for accepting $50,000 in bribe imprisoned for 7 years

On August 4, an open trial of the criminal case initiated against U.Ya., who used to work as the deputy khokim of Mirishkor district, Kashkadarya region - head of the mahalla and family support department, and Kh.B., who served as head of the Mubarak district DIA, has ended and the verdict has been announced.

U.Ya. was found guilty of committing the crimes provided for in paragraph “a” of Article 25, 168-4 and Paragraph “a” of Article 28, 211-3 of the Criminal Code. He was deprived of the right to work in executive positions and assume financial responsibility for a period of 2 years, imposed a fine in the amount of 400 BCAs.

Kh.B. was found not guilty and acquitted in accordance with Article 28, 211-3 of the Criminal Code and Article 83-2 of the Criminal Procedural Code. He was found guilty of committing the crime provided for in Paragraphs “a”, “v” of Article 25, 168-3 of the Criminal Code. He was deprived of the right to work in executive positions of responsibility and assume financial responsibility for a period of 2 years, imposed a fine in the amount of 300 BCAs (According to Article 62 of the Criminal Code, imposition of a fine in the amount of 213 BCAs remained unchanged).

At the moment, this sentence issued by the court of first instance has not entered into legal force, and the parties who are dissatisfied with it, from the day of its announcement, and the defendants and the victim, within 20 days from the day of receiving a copy of the sentence, can appeal through this court to the judicial panel of the Kashkadarya regional court on criminal proceedings. Also, the prosecutor is informed of his right to protest.

Earlier, in February 2022, there were reports that the deputy khokim of Mirishkor district in charge of mahalla and family support was arrested upon receiving $50,000 in bribe.
