Uzbekistan to accelerate the process of joining WTO
According to the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodjaev, the process of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization will be accelerated. The minister made the statement at the business forum "Uzbekistan - Hungary", held in Samarkand.
At the event, the minister spoke about the priority reforms that are planned to be implemented in the country. In particular:
• ensuring the rule of law;
• further reform of the judicial system;
• effective fight against corruption;
• improvement of the banking and financial systems;
• privatization of large industrial and infrastructure enterprises with a state share;
• accelerating the process of joining the World Trade Organization and becoming its full member.
In addition, the introduction of public-private partnership mechanisms will be expanded in the implementation of joint projects in the fields of energy, transport, healthcare and education.
