The meeting followed the fund’s listing on the London and Tashkent stock exchanges, which was described as Uzbekistan’s first international initial public offering (IPO). The listing raised nearly $700 million, with investor demand exceeding the number of shares offered by more than four times.
The next stage will focus on transforming companies in the fund’s portfolio. The initiative is expected to improve public well-being and enhance the reliability and quality of services provided by the companies.
Mirziyoyev and Johnson also emphasized the importance of enabling more Uzbek citizens to participate in future share offerings, giving the public greater access to investment opportunities.

The talks also covered preparations for major companies to go public and training for their executives. The sides discussed the prospects for Franklin Templeton’s involvement in the Tashkent International Financial Center.
