“Our most urgent task is to bring the activities of the Organization of Turkic States to a qualitatively new level, increase its authority, fully utilize the potential of our cooperation, and ensure the implementation of our decisions and agreements. Under the auspices of the organization, various structures and mechanisms have been created, many meetings are held at the ministerial level and other events. However, it should be recognized that much remains to be done to ensure their systemic coordination and achievement of effectiveness,” he said.

The head of state said that it is necessary to unite efforts in order for the organization to work in the future on the basis of a completely new, effective system.

“For these purposes, we propose to carry out institutional reforms in the organization. First of all, we have to create separate committees at the ministerial level in priority areas – politics and security, trade and investment, transport, agriculture, energy, information technology, tourism, innovation and education, medicine, youth and others. The active involvement of experts and scientists, representatives of the public and private sectors in their activities will undoubtedly give them greater efficiency,” he said.

According to Mirziyoyev, time requires a radical increase in the role and importance of the secretariat of the organization. It must organize productive work in every area and become a powerful force for fruitful multilateral cooperation.

“I hope that, taking into account the opinions expressed today, we will approve the new structure of the secretariat at the next summit. Another issue is related to strengthening of the system of strict control over all decisions and documents adopted by the heads of state. I believe that we should involve the council of elders of our organization in this process, use their rich experience and knowledge,” the President concluded.
