Large consignment of illegal pyrotechnics detained

On the eve of the New Year, the illegal circulation of pyrotechnics of dubious origin, which poses a danger to public health, is growing.

At the post of the road patrol service "Darband" in the Surkhandarya region, customs officers stopped the illegal import of a large amount of pyrotechnics, UzA writes.

Based on operational information, specialists of the regional customs department, together with the regional State Security Service and the Internal Affairs Directorate, inspected the ISUZU car. When examining the vehicle with the help of a service dog, it was found that in its trunk there were 407,250 “Britanic” fireworks in 814 blocks worth 122.2 million soums and 240,000 “Treniya” fireworks in 480 blocks worth 72 million soums.

According to the information service of the regional customs department, 647 thousand 250 units of pyrotechnics worth 194 million 175 thousand soums were seized as material evidence, and the relevant documents were drawn up.

The case is under investigation.
