Almost 6 billion soums misdirected in implementation of “Open Budget” processes
The prosecutor’s office prosecuted those who violated the law. 5 criminal cases have been initiated.
5.6 billion soums of violations of the law were found in 257 projects during the implementation of the “Open Budget” process. It was announced at the Senate meeting.
It is noted that the regions did not fully comply with the requirements of the Budget Code, and there was a delay in directing at least 30% of the additional resources of the district (city) budgets to finance activities formed on the basis of public opinion.
Within the second season of initiative budget processes, projects were not offered to citizens living in 162 mahallas across the republic. In particular, 95 mahallas in the city of Samarkand, 22 mahallas in the Andijan and Tashkent regions, 18 mahallas in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and 5 mahallas in the Syrdarya region did not participate in the initiative budgeting process.
Also, as a result of control activities conducted by the State Financial Control Inspectorate regarding the purposeful use of funds directed to financing of activities formed on the basis of public opinion, 5.6 billion soums of violations of the law were detected in 257 projects.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, 255 persons who committed violations of the law during the budget process initiated were brought to disciplinary and 15 persons administrative responsibility, and 5 criminal cases were initiated for serious violations of the law.
