Extreme cold and snowy weather is prevailing throughout Uzbekistan, including historical Samarkand.
The snow that fell on the night of January 10 painted the city of Samarkand white by morning. Since the air temperature was above zero until noon, the snow on the roads began to melt. By evening the air temperature dropped to -5 degrees.
City public transport continues to operate without interruption. So far, there are no problems with utilities. Since the morning of January 10, sidewalks in the city have been cleaned by employees of responsible organizations.
