SSS and PGO to take special measures to eliminate corruption in energy system
The State Security Service and the Prosecutor General’s Office will take measures to eliminate corruption in the energy system. A relevant statement was made at the meeting today regarding the supply of electricity and gas to the population.
Problems in the energy system of Uzbekistan are caused mainly by unsystematic work and the looting of energy resources. In particular, 5,000 illegal connections to electricity networks and 4,500 to gas pipelines were detected last month.
“Do district governors, heads of sectors and responsible officials know that there was a robbery in the electricity and gas networks?” asked the president at the meeting.
The discovery of 192 cases of corruption in the oil and gas and energy control systems in the last few months also indicates that the system has been eroded from within.
The State Security Service and the Prosecutor General’s Office were instructed to take special measures to eliminate corruption in the system.
