Gov’t to allocate 120 billion soums and $54 million for fight against AIDS
It is ensured that the mother-to-child transmission of HIV is stopped. Mandatory medical examination of married persons for HIV infection is carried out through the e-system.
The presidential decree “On measures to further strengthen the system of combating the disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus” was signed.
In it, measures were defined to further improve the quality of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of HIV infection, to increase the coverage of tests for the detection of HIV infection among the population, to provide quality medical and psycho-social care to patients, to provide them with the necessary medicines and to strengthen their social protection.
In particular, funds in the amount of 120 billion soums and $54 million will be allocated for organizational activities in 2023-2027.
By 2027, it will be ensured that the rate of HIV-infected persons who know their status, are covered by special treatment courses, and whose viral load has dropped to the level of undetectable blood will reach 95%.
It also ensures that mother-to-child transmission of HIV is stopped.
In order to implement the process of mandatory medical examination of married persons for HIV infection through an electronic system, together with the Ministry of Justice, electronic cooperation will be organized between registry authorities and relevant medical institutions until June 1, 2023, in Tashkent city and Syrdarya region, and until the end of 2023 in other regions.
Within two months, together with Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment, Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports, Committee on Religious Affairs, concerned ministries and agencies and public organizations, the program of interdepartmental measures on the issue of the spread of HIV infection among young people, carrying out extensive explanatory and educational work, and strengthening family and moral values in the society will be approved.
