Alisher Usmanov submits his resignation from RUIE management
The Russian oligarch said that he will end his active work in connection with his “retirement”.

Russian businessman Alisher Usmanov submitted his resignation from the board of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE).
Usmanov asked to be released from his post “due to his retirement and termination of labor activity”. BRIEF channel presented his resignation letter.
Commenting on Usmanov’s application, the source wrote that he wants to “engage in entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan” in the future.
According to the Russian diplomat and politician Sergey Markov, “Usmanov will remain in Russia, but will avoid the sanctions through Uzbekistan”.
As RBK reported, the meeting of the commission bureau, which will consider Usmanov’s application, is scheduled for January 25.
Alisher Usmanov announced his retirement plans earlier. In 2012, he said that within 6 months, he would merge all his assets into a single holding and give up direct management of the business. In an interview with Forbes magazine, he announced that he will definitely retire at the age of 63 and engage in charity work. Now Usmanov is 69 years old.
Alisher Usmanov is the founder and major shareholder of USM Group. This holding includes “Metalloinvest”, “Udokanskaya med” and “Megafon” companies. He ranks seventh in the list of the richest Russian billionaires according to Forbes. The magazine estimated his wealth at $11.5 billion.
Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Alisher Usmanov, like many other Russian businessmen and politicians, was subject to sanctions by the United States, the European Union, and other Western countries.
