Vietnam may build a large plant worth $125 million in Tashkent region

Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held talks via videoconferencing yesterday with the director of Mareven Food Holdings (Vietnam) Nguyen Duong.

According to the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade (MIIT), Mareven Food Holdings specializes in investments in projects for the processing of agricultural products, the production and distribution of food products. The company’s international brand portfolio includes Rollton, BIGBON, Mareven Professional Food, Petra, and Actibo, Kun.uz correspondent reports.

During the online meeting, further steps were discussed in detail for the construction of a large plant for the production of instant food, soft drinks, dried vegetables, and chips worth $125 million. The project will be implemented on the territory of the “Angren” FEZ in the Tashkent region. Within its framework, it is planned to create 800 new jobs.

In the course of the negotiations, the Vietnamese partners also announced the current state of work on organizing the activities of a logistics hub in Tashkent region to receive and distribute the company’s products to the markets of Uzbekistan and Central Asian countries. The Uzbek side expressed its readiness to assist in the implementation of the company’s investment initiatives in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, the parties developed a format for further interaction in order to successfully implement projects, taking into account the launch of production and logistics facilities of Mareven Food Holdings in Uzbekistan and the creation of new jobs.
