Chinese companies to help build wind farms with a capacity of up to 1,000 MW in Jizzakh region
Specialists of the companies will visit the construction site and study the possibilities of building wind farms. As part of the project, they will attract $1 billion in investments to Uzbekistan.
On Tuesday, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Energy and Chinese companies China Huadian Overseas Investments, China National Electric Engineering Company and SANY Renewable Energy to study the possibilities of building wind farms with a capacity of up to 1,000 MW in the Jizzakh region.
Under the agreement, China Huadian Overseas Investments will take part in the project as an investor, CNEEC as a general contractor, and SANY Renewable Energy as a wind turbine supplier.
Specialists of the companies will soon visit the construction site and begin to study. The companies will also conduct studies on the procedures for concluding contracts on the principles of public-private partnership in Uzbekistan. Based on the results of the studies, the parties will sign an appropriate agreement for the construction of wind farms.
Within the framework of this memorandum, Chinese companies will attract direct investments in the amount of $1 billion to Uzbekistan.
China Huadian Overseas Investments is a subsidiary of China Huadian Co, one of China’s largest energy companies. CNEEC is a major electrical equipment manufacturer that also acts as a specialized engineering services contractor. SANY Renewable Energy is one of the largest wind turbine manufacturers in China.
