SSS officers prevent sale of newborn children in Tashkent (video)
The detainees requested from buyers from $20,000 to $40,000 for their two-month old children.

As a result of a number of operative measures, employees of the State Security Service stopped the facts of trafficking in newborn children, the SSS press service reported.
So, a 36-year-old native of the city of Chirchik, Tashkent region, was detained by employees of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes while selling her son, who was born on February 3 this year, for $40,000.
Similarly, a resident of the Akaltin district of (Syrdarya region) was detained in Tashkent.
She intended to sell her daughter, who was born on February 3 of this year, for $20,000. She was detained while receiving $11,500 of this amount.
On the above facts, criminal cases have been initiated under Paragraph “a”, Article 135-3 (human trafficking) of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
It should be recalled that for committing such a crime, a punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 8 to 12 years is envisaged.
