Kia starts sales of EV6 in Uzbekistan
The price of the electric crossover Kia EV6 starts from 899.9 million soums.
Kia launches sales of EV6 electric crossover in Uzbekistan, the company said.
It will be the tenth model of the Korean automaker presented at the car market of the republic. It is also the first electric Kia car in Uzbekistan.
It now sells eight Kia executive and business class models, of which the Sportage crossover is the most recent addition to the range. In addition, the local assembly of the Bongo light truck started in February.
According to the data on the company's website, the price of EV6 starts from 899,900,000 soums.
The EV, depending on the configuration, is equipped with one or two electric motors with a total power of 225 to 576 hp. The car can travel up to 498 km on a single battery charge.
Kia started assembling cars in Uzbekistan in the autumn of 2020. The machines are manufactured using the SKD method at Roodell's ADM Jizzakh plant. The production capacity is 25 thousand cars per year.
Now the company is going to launch a number of new production lines and workshops in order to establish small-scale assembly of cars. This will increase the capacity to 100,000 vehicles annually.
Roodell co-founder Doniyor Davletiyarov, a year after the launch, estimated Kia's share in the car market of Uzbekistan at 2%. By 2025-2026, after the plant reaches its planned capacity, the company expects to reach 25%.
