Shavkat Mirziyoyev talks to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan over the phone
A telephone conversation took place between the presidents of Uzbekistan and Türkiye.

During the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the President of Türkiye on the successful holding of the presidential and parliamentary elections, as a result of which the incumbent President of the country and the Republican Alliance won the majority of votes.
It was noted that the voting results testify to the broad support of the Turkish people for the course of political and economic reforms of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
During the talk, topical issues of further strengthening the Uzbek-Turkish relations of a comprehensive strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation were also considered.
The importance of continuing active work on preparing the agenda for the next meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council was noted.
For information, the presidential and parliamentary elections in Türkiye were held on May 14. After processing 100% of the ballots, it was announced that Erdoğan secured 49.24% of the vote.
It is worth noting that in order to be elected president, one of the candidates must gain at least 50% plus one vote. Otherwise, two candidates with the highest vote will compete in the second round.
The second round of presidential elections in Türkiye will take place on May 28.
