Uzbekistan resumes import of electricity from Tajikistan
The corresponding agreement on the supply of electricity was signed for the period of agricultural irrigation – from May to September.
JSC National Power Grids of Uzbekistan signed an agreement with the energy company Barki Tojik on the import of 1.285 billion kWh of electricity in May-September 2023.
The JSC is importing electricity to maintain the balance of energy and water resources in the republic, to ensure an uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers, as well as to prepare equipment for the autumn-winter period.
It should be reminded that in May-September 2021, Uzbekistan imported 1.143.6 billion kWh of electricity from Tajikistan, in April-September 2022 – 823.2 million kWh.
