Famous fencer dies after plastic surgery in Tashkent

The prosecutor’s office ordered a forensic medical examination to determine the cause of Aida Khasanova’s death.

On May 23, the condition of a 39-year-old woman worsened after undergoing cosmetic surgery at a private clinic in Tashkent. By the decision of doctors, she was transferred to another hospital, but died in intensive care in the evening.

A forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the cause of her death. At the moment, the Chilanzar district prosecutor’s office is conducting a pre-investigation check.

Condolences are expressed on the official website of the Uzbekistan Fencing Federation on the death of the famous fencer, international class judge Aida Khasanova.

Aida Khasanova, born in Tashkent in 1983, is a multiple champion of Uzbekistan, a champion of Central Asia in 2001-2006, and a gold medalist at an international tournament held in England in 2005.

In 2014, she became the first international judge in the history of Uzbekistan in fencing with the use of three types of weapons. Since the same year, she has been a judge of the International Fencing Federation (FIE), and has worked at major international championships and tournaments.

In 2015, Khasanova participated for the first time in the final round of the World and Asian Championships as a referee from Uzbekistan. Since 2017, she has been appointed chief referee of the Uzbekistan Fencing Federation for her great contribution to the development of fencing. She brought up many athletes who achieved high results in international competitions.

In 2019, she was elected the first judge from Uzbekistan and Central Asia at the Summer Olympic Games held in Tokyo. At the Tokyo Olympics, she was the only female fencing referee from Asia.

It should be recalled that on March 5, the founder of the humorous project Mittivine, the famous blogger Farhod Mannopov, died after a rhinoplasty operation. After an investigation, it was found that the surgeon who operated on the 27-year-old blogger, the anesthesiologist-resuscitator who provided medical services, the laboratory assistant and the ultrasound doctor did not have the qualification categories required for the operation.
