PGO detains individuals who took $6,500 promising illegal help with admission to TSUE
The PGO Department for Combating Economic Crimes detained individuals who took $6,500 promising illegal help with admission to universities in Tashkent and Fergana.
Reportedly, fraudsters in the Bektemir district of Tashkent were caught red-handed while receiving $6,500. They promised they would help with enrolment to the Tashkent State University of Economics through their acquaintances holding a high position.
Also, the SSS department of the Fergana region detained individuals who offered illegal help to a local resident with enrolment in the neighboring Kyrgyz State University. They said they would later aid him to transfer his studies to Fergana State University. The fraudsters were caught while taking $1,400.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated under Article 168 (fraud) of the Criminal Code. Investigations are being conducted.
