Police detain a 44-year-old woman for encroachments on the president’s authority
Law enforcement officers detained a Bukhara resident (female) in Tashkent. She is charged under two articles of the Criminal Code.
According to the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Bukhara region, on May 25 of this year, a 44-year-old woman who lives in the Gijduvan district was put on the wanted list.
She is charged under two articles of the Criminal Code:
- 140 (insult)
- 158 (encroachments on the president’s authority)
Following joint operational measures, the woman was detained by law enforcement officers in Tashkent, she was placed in a pre-trial detention center.
It should be noted that public insult or slander against the president (any kind, including the ones using the press or other mass media, telecommunications networks or the Internet) is punishable by correctional labor for up to three years or restriction of liberty from two to five years, or imprisonment up to five years.
