Migrants from Uzbekistan being recruited for war against Ukraine in Volgograd
In Volgograd, migrants from Uzbekistan are being called up for a “special military operation”. The posters were spotted by local residents in public transport salons.
According to the publication v1.ru, recruitment announcements for service in the armed forces of the Russian Federation appeared on several Volgograd buses at once. At the moment, agitation was found on routes Nos. 21 and 35.
On black and white sheets of A4 format, attached to the window of public transport, the terms of a military contract are written according to the standard. In addition to the promised income of 200 thousand rubles (about $2,200) per month, those wishing to go to the service are reminded of the guaranteed acquisition of citizenship of the Russian Federation.
However, it was not the high salaries that attracted the attention of the passengers, but the Uzbek text duplicated on the right side of the campaign.
The bus conductors could not answer questions about the origin of the announcements.
“We don’t know. They come to put up advertisements at night. And these posters have been hanging for two weeks,” employees of the transport company said.
According to open sources, route No. 21 is served by Volgograd Bus Park LLC.
Having heard a question about the nature of the leaflets, the company’s employees immediately redirected the correspondents to a certain West-Service LLC. The organization itself is registered in the Leningrad Oblast, and has common ultimate owners with the Volgograd park. Employees of both organizations cannot answer the question about the connection between these two organizations and only redirect responsibility to each other.
As a result, the Volgograd recruitment station for military service under the contract shed light on the origin of the ads.
“Foreign citizens travel in these buses. This advertisement is for them, we placed the advertisement and decided to start with the Uzbek language. In the future, it is planned to do campaigning in other languages: Tajik, Kazakh, and so on. So far, there has been no order to place such announcements somewhere other than buses,” an employee of the recruitment station said.
It should be recalled that the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan establishes liability for mercenary under two articles.
In particular, according to article 154 of the Criminal Code, in hostilities on the territory of another state or on its side, is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years.
This article also contains the responsibility for training or funding the mercenary.
Article 154-1 of the Code defines responsibility for entering the service in the power structures of foreign states.
