Uzbekistan increases tea imports
China still remains the major provider of tea to the market of Uzbekistan.
In January-June 2023, Uzbekistan imported around 17,100 tons of tea from 23 countries for about $24.3 million.
According to the Statistics Agency, the volume of tea imports has increased by about one thousand tons compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, Uzbekistan imported tea mainly from the following countries:
- China - 13.5 thousand tons
- Kenya - 1.0 thousand tons
- Iran - 973 tons
- India - 387 tons
- Kazakhstan - 265 tons
- Russia - 219 tons
- Sri Lanka - 212 tons
- Indonesia - 204 tons
- UAE - 181 tons
- Pakistan - 87 tons
