Protocol on mutual entry and exit of citizens of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan through ID card comes into force

Entry and exit from the territory of the two countries will be allowed from September 1, 2023.

The Protocol on amendments to the Agreement on the mutual arrival and departure of citizens between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Kyrgyzstan has entered into force.

On August 25 of this year, the Protocol on amendments to the Agreement on the mutual arrival and departure of citizens between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Kyrgyzstan (city of Bishkek, January 27, 2023) came into force, the MIA information service reports.

The effective use of the ID card for entry, exit, transit, movement and stay in the territory of the two countries will be launched by mutual agreement from September 1, 2023 at 00:00.

In accordance with the changes introduced by the Protocol, a simplified single procedure for crossing the State border was introduced for citizens of the two countries.

In particular, from now on, citizens of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan can enter, move and stay in the territories of the two countries with an ID card for up to 60 days.

Citizens of Uzbekistan can enter, exit and transit Kyrgyzstan with a biometric passport for going abroad.
