Employees of law enforcement agencies prevent circulation of 19 kg of narcotic substances

A large amount of smuggled hashish has been detected in Namangan and Tashkent regions.

Employees of the Namangan regional SSS Department, together with the regional customs unit and DIA, carried out an operative event.

In the house of a resident of the Yangikurgan district (born in 1975), 9 kg 766 g of hashish was discovered and seized. Reportedly, it was smuggled from Kyrgyzstan.

Also, during an operative event in the Uychi district, a Lacetti car moving in the direction of Andijan – Namangan was stopped and inspected. Its driver (born in 1995), a resident of the Pakhtaabad district, was transporting 1 kg 379 g of hashish in his car. Allegedly, this drug was also smuggled from Kyrgyzstan. Law enforcement agencies detained the courier and confiscated the drug in the prescribed manner. 

During an operative event carried out in the Pskent district (Tashkent region), 2 people born in 1975 and 1981, living in the Fergana region, were detained by officers of the State Security Service and customs authorities upon receiving 8 kg of hashish, which was smuggled from the Republic of Tajikistan and hidden in a secluded place. Later, a resident of Bekabad, born in 1996, who placed the drug stash, was also detained.

Currently, criminal cases have been initiated under Articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code. A preventive measure in the form of detention has been applied against the detainees. An investigation is underway.
